A Day in the Life of Sarra

It’s a bit odd, isn’t it? A day in my life. Most people probably think I spend all my time buried in dusty books, staring out the window, or avoiding my father’s suspicious glares. And to be honest? It’s not entirely untrue. But there’s more to it, of course. If you could spend a day with me, you’d probably be surprised by what goes on when no one’s around. I might even surprise myself.

Breakfast and the Quiet Mornings

My mornings tend to start with the quiet sounds of the tower. Father’s usually not around at first light, which means I get a little peace before everything starts up. If he’s not in the stables or out on one of his errands, he’s often gone before breakfast, leaving me to fend for myself. But when he is home, breakfast is an event.

If Father is around, I hear him moving around downstairs—sorting his potions, checking his journals, preparing who-knows-what—and then comes the best part: breakfast. He makes the most marvelous breakfasts. If he really wants to spoil me, he’ll throw in some fresh eggs with herbs, and let’s just say, I never turn those down.

When he finally comes in, it’s always quiet—he knows I’m usually still half-asleep. He’ll set the tray down next to me without a sound, but I can’t fool him—he knows I’m awake, even if I haven’t opened my eyes yet. And of course, once I groggily mumble a “Morning, Father,” he’s already cracking a joke about my upside-down sleeping habits.

Library Time: Seeking Answers

The library has always been my refuge. There’s something about the rows of books, the smell of old pages, and the comforting feel of a well-worn book in my hands. It’s the perfect place to retreat when the world feels a little too overwhelming.

Recently, I found myself wandering the shelves, flipping through books that I’ve never really had time to explore before. Some of them were in languages I’m still learning, but there’s always something intriguing hidden between the pages. During my search, I came across something unexpected—something that might shed light on all the strange things happening lately. But that’s all I’m going to say for now—you’ll have to wait and see.

The Rest of the Day...

After some initial confusion and a brief moment of panic (I’m getting pretty good at handling those), I decided to take a break and unwind. A bath always helps clear my mind. There’s something calming about the warmth of the water—it’s one of the few times I can just relax without feeling like something is about to happen. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment in an otherwise chaotic day.
